PechaKucha’s 35th Storytelling Event On June 13
PechaKucha Bermuda will host its 35th storytelling event on Friday, June 13, at Blue Waters Anglers Club, featuring a diverse lineup of local voices presenting in the signature 20×20 format.
A spokesperson said, “PechaKucha Bermuda has announced the 35th edition of its community storytelling event, which will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Blue Waters Anglers Club [BWAC].
“Organisers invite the public to enjoy an evening of creative and thought-provoking presentations delivered in PechaKucha’s signature 20×20 format: 20 slides, shown for 20 seconds each. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with presentations beginning promptly at 7:00 PM upstairs in the BWAC hall. Fish dinners are also available for purchase from J&K Kitchen. The event is free to attend, and donations are welcomed to help support the club and the community partners who make this event possible.
“This edition features a diverse lineup of presenters from across Bermuda’s creative, professional, and activist communities:
- Jasmine Patterson, journalist and Deputy News Director at Bermuda Broadcasting, reflects on her year as a Chevening Scholar studying journalism in the UK during the height of the pandemic.
- Joshua Powell, a health coach and breathwork facilitator, offers insight into reclaiming wellness and presence through reconnecting with nature in Embrace the Elements.
- Hana Bushara, a Global Studies graduate and musician, shares how music has shaped her life and examines the broader role of song as a force for connection and a catalyst for social, political, and economic change in her talk, Thank You for the Music.
- Rev Gav [TyTe], beatboxer, educator, and minister, introduces Beatboxology, a groundbreaking system for notating beatbox sounds through visual icons.
- Kinya, a multifaceted Kenyan creative and financial services expert, shares how her love of travel and experience across 55+ countries fuels a unique perspective on investing and personal growth in her presentation, The Bank of Adventure.
- Sophia Cannonier, ballerina, activist, and mentor, tells the story of how classical ballet shaped her life and inspired a new generation of Bermudian dancers.
- Gareth Maddock, software engineer and founder of PyBermuda, dives into An Abridged History of Infinity, offering a digestible look at one of math’s most awe-inspiring concepts.
