Basketball: Scott & Squad Defeat New Zealand
Bermudian basketball player Ralph Scott and the NBA Academy Select Purple Squad opened the NBA Academy Games with a 90-61 victory over Basketball New Zealand.
In the event, which features top global prospects playing in front of NCAA coaches and NBA scouts, Scott contributed seven points for his team.
Playing for 23 minutes, Scott — who is 6ft 7in tall — shot 3 for 10 from the field. He also recorded four rebounds, two assists, and one blocked shot. The games provide a platform for players hoping to compete at the collegiate and professional levels, with more than 178 NCAA division I coaches and representatives from 27 NBA teams in attendance.
