Ebbin Helps Tulane Lead Sailing Regatta

Tulane University’s sailing team, propelled by a strong performance from Bermudian sailor Christian Ebbin, is well positioned after the first day of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Open Sailing Regatta. The team finished the day atop the leaderboard with 105 points, a substantial lead over the competition on Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana.

Ebbin was a key contributor to the Green Wave’s success, sailing the A Class boat and accumulating 45 points across nine races. His performance included four top-four finishes.

Meanwhile, Bermudian sailors Jordan Vieira and PJ Rodrigues had a more challenging start with Eckerd College, which is currently in fourth place with 255 points.

Vieira, sailing the A Class boat for Eckerd, ended the day with 72 points, securing two top-five finishes. Rodrigues, his teammate in the B Class boat, finished with 73 points as the team aims to improve its standing on the final day.

The regatta is scheduled to continue.
