Football Teams Advance In FA Cup
Four Corona League teams advanced to the next round of the FA Challenge Cup Preliminary Round. Island Bulls, FC Rhino’s, Young Gunz, and Inter Bermuda all secured their spots, along with First Division teams Somerset Trojans and Robin Hood.
FC Rhino’s 1, Wolves 0
At Southampton Oval, FC Rhino’s defeated First Division team Wolves. The only goal of the match was scored by Keith Jennings in the 77th minute.
Young Gunz 3, St. David’s 2
Young Gunz defeated St. David’s after a late comeback. St. David’s goals were scored by Tre McCallan in the 27th minute and Tyrone Burgess in the 55th minute. Young Gunz responded with goals from Drewonde Bascome in the 36th minute and Rico Wells in the 63rd minute. The winning goal came in the 93rd minute from Dion Stovell.
Robin Hood 2, Southampton Rangers 2 [7-6 on penalties]
In a First Division matchup at Southampton Oval, Robin Hood defeated Southampton Rangers in a penalty shootout. Jahni Bean scored for Southampton Rangers in the 1st minute, while Taurean Manders equalized for Robin Hood in the 87th minute. In extra time, Keishen Bean scored for Robin Hood in the 104th minute, and Ralston Wright equalized for Southampton Rangers in the 107th minute. Robin Hood won the penalty shootout 7-6.
Somerset Trojans 9, Terrace Onions 1
Somerset Trojans defeated the Corona League’s Terrace Onions at the Somerset Cricket Club. Somerset Trojans led 5-0 at halftime with goals from Paris Robinson [2], Keyni Mills, Tahje Wade, and Jadan Ratteay Smith. Mills and Ratteay Smith each added a second goal in the second half, with Rychus Symonds and Jadon Simmons also scoring. Terrace Onions’ only goal came from a penalty by Christopher Alexander in the 55th minute.
