Results: Bermuda Open Wushu Championships
Local and overseas athletes showcased their skills in the Bermuda Open Wushu Championships at Dellwood Middle School Gymnasium on Saturday [October 18].
Senior and junior competitors were in action in Sanda [Chinese kickboxing] and taolu [forms] events.
The annual tournament featured seven overseas competitors joining the island’s top performers from the Bermuda Sanshou Association, including Krista Dyer, Cole and Che Durham, Talia Iris, Kaelin Cox and Cyril Whitter.
Among the BSA juniors were Tristan Robinson and his sister Yara Robinson, Muryah Swan and Geraldine Sidders.
Ahnaj Smith also represented Controversy Gym at the championships.
Garon Wilkinson, the BSA president, told Bernews: “It was a fantastic day of Wushu action, including 25 Sanda bouts and six taolu categories.”
