Sailors Penruddocke And Kempe Race In UK
Bermudian sailors Adriana Penruddocke and Sebastian Kempe competed at the ILCA UK National Open 5 at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy at the weekend.
Olympian Penruddocke excelled in the ILCA 6 fleet, securing third place overall from 81 boats.
She finished fifth and fourth in the opening two races before winning the third and final race to close with ten points.
Kempe, racing in the ILCA 7 class, suffered a broken mast in the opening race.
After being forced to retire from the first two races, he placed fifth in the third to finish 23rd overall with 77 points in the 31-boat fleet.
Only three races were completed on day one before the second day of competition was cancelled due to strong winds.
