Ball Hockey: ACT & Alexandra Mosher Win
The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League resumed this week with a high-scoring double-header at the PCC Hockey Rink, where 15 goals were scored across two matches.
ACT 7, BDA Spirits 3
ACT earned a 7-3 victory over BDA Spirits behind a strong offensive showing that kept them in third place and within reach of the league leaders. ACT took control early, with Luca Papania and James Amaral scoring in the opening period. Nathan Ische replied for BDA Spirits, but ACT extended the lead in the second period through goals from Samuel Vieira and Shane Matchett.
Papania added his second goal in the final period as ACT continued to apply pressure. BDA Spirits mounted a late response with goals from Andrew Bonner and Jeff Loper, but Vieira and Matchett each scored again to seal the result and secure all three points for ACT.
Hamilton Princess 2, Alexandra Mosher 3
Alexandra Mosher edged Hamilton Princess 3-2 in the night’s second game, with all five goals coming in an eventful first period. Mike Brennan and Shannon Gosse put Mosher ahead early before Jean-Michael Tremblay scored twice in quick succession to draw Hamilton Princess level. Adam Mattatall restored Mosher’s lead later in the period.
No further goals were scored as both teams tightened defensively over the final two periods. Hamilton Princess pressed for an equaliser, but Mosher’s defence held firm to preserve the win and maintain their position in the title race.
