Rugby League: Renegades & Teachers Win
The Renegades secured a 54-15 victory over Police and the Teachers defeated the Bermudianas 24-17 during a Women’s League double-header at the National Sports Centre North Field.
Renegades 54, Police 15
Jessica Cassidy scored six tries to lead the Renegades to a 54-15 win against Police. Beth Magill, Nakato Luzuka, Michelle Croghan, and Ashley Godek each added one try to the Renegades’ total. Laura Mulligan contributed two successful conversions.
Police finished with 15 points. Akila Ciara recorded two tries, and Kailey Deluka scored one try.
Teachers 24, Bermudianas 17
The Teachers opened the day with a 24-17 win over the Bermudianas. Nya Heyliger scored two tries for the Teachers, while Christiana Halliday and Somaia Saltus each recorded a single try. Lysmeire Santana and Heidi Groves both kicked successful conversions.
The Bermudianas [a squad featuring local youth players] kept the score within seven points. Zaria Codrington scored two tries, Philipa Duarte scored one, and Savana Greenslade added a conversion.
