Dunkley Stays Away: Anti-Gang Group Instead

April 9, 2010

Senator Michael Dunkley did not attempt to attend the Term Limits meeting last night as he had previously stated he would, instead attending the ‘Rise Above Bermuda’ anti-gang meeting being held at the same time.

We attended the Rise Above meeting held last night at the Victor Scott school at approximately the same time [6-8pm] and spotted Mr. Dunkley. In addition, at the end of the meeting it was mentioned that Mr Dunkley would be donating all the refreshments for the “New Good Friday” to be held this coming Sunday.

The term limit meeting was open to Bermudians that work in international business, and ID to prove Bermudian status was said to be required for entry. UBP Senator Michael Dunkley had previously told us he felt to “ask for proof of Bermudian status is unacceptable and unnecessary“. Colonel Burch had stated that Mr Dunkley could not attend, as he did meet the criteria of working in international business. Mr Dunkley had initially said he would attempt to attend anyway, but close to the meeting changed his mind, saying he did not want to detract from the issue at hand.
