Basketball: Bermuda Wins 129 to 13

June 26, 2011

The Bermuda Men’s Basketball team has started off their competition in the 2011 Island Games in the Isle of Wight today [June 26] completely crushing the Norwegian island of Froya, winning 129 to 13.

In a role reversal for Bermuda – as we are normally substantially smaller than our competitors in international competition – our population significantly exceeds that of Froya, which has under 5,000 people.

The Bermuda Basketball Team is the defending champion, having won gold in the 2009 Island Games, and the team is expected to also do well this year.

The team members include Steven Simons, Sullivan Phillips , Dean Jones, Jason Simons, Dale Jackson, Chris Crumpler, Dave Middleton, William Trott, Shannon Thompson, Aaron Jackson, John Lee and Ryan Rabain.
