KFC: First Half Sales Decline By $81k

August 26, 2011

In a report to shareholders, Kentucky Fried Chicken (Bermuda) Limited said their first half gross sales declined by $80,970 compared to the prior year.

The statement released said they have “not been immune to a general weakness in discretionary consumer spending with half year sales declining for a second consecutive year.”

KFC said they have been engaged in discussions with the Bermuda Industrial Union for several months regarding terms for renewal of the collective agreement with unionized staff. They said, “It is our hope that the BIU and its membership will recognize the weakness of market conditions and the urgency of the Company’s need to reach a realistic agreement with its staff that protects the interests of all stakeholders including employees, investors, and customers.”

“While the Company has successfully protected its workers’ employment during the past two years of economic weakness, our ability to continue to protect employment going forward will be largely dependent on our employees’ willingness to recognize difficulties we all face in this economic environment.”

to tell you the truth, that is a good sign. People are either eating healthy and cutting the grease out of their diets. This place is a danger to all young children, and the everyday school children that I see almost all the time packing their faces with french fries and greasy chicken. And lets not talk about these young mothers who are in there almost every day, stuffing there child with chicken nuggets, because apparently cooking is no longer needed in society. Well im sorry to say, death to KFC. Obeasity is on the rise, and for all those who wonder why they gained 10-15 pounds in the last few months….I can easily answer your question. I never see you at the salad bar, or eating anything that is colourful…that is why you look like a hefa. But to all those who are big beautiful sister and live a healthy lifesyle….you keep it up. Its nothing wrong filling th body with the 5 a day requirements.

Good to see the KFC here taking a hit. Arguably the unhealthiest food operating business going on the island.

No that would be the Grease Queen.

  6. Malachi says:

To 95% of the world’s population KFC might be the healthiest food in the world – at least it’s food!

Having said that, there MUST be something terribly wrong with the way things are run there! How can you be full of customers seven days a week and lose money??

    • Truth (Original) says:

Operating expenses in Bermuda are trmemdously high. The Govt has their hands so deep in the companies pockets, its a wonder how they ever make money.

If someone says they made less than last year doesn’t mean they are losing. Their gains just are not as high, as they want them to be. If I make a net profit of $20 million last year and $19.5 this year doesn’t mean I am suffering. Businesses have made off like bandits for so long in Bermuda ;-)

I wish you could get buckets of KFC skin without the chicken. It’s the best part. They could re-deep fry the skin and sell it by the bucket.

    Nice and healthy…
