Police Seize ‘Quantity of Drugs’

January 18, 2012

This evening [Jan.18] the Bermuda Police Service confirmed that as a “result of specific information,” contact was made with the management of Butterfield & Vallis and the Drug Unit seized a “quantity of controlled drug.”

A police spokesperson said, “An active investigation is underway which includes American law enforcement agencies. As this is still an open investigation, further details regarding the drug type and quantity will not be released at this time.

“This seizure represents a reduction in public harm, and is also another example of the significance of working together in partnership with members of the community.

“We continue to thank those who forward information to the police either directly – or indirectly through the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline.”
