Miss Bermuda Takes Part In Opening Ceremony
Last night [July 24] the 2012 Miss World Festival officially kicked off with the opening ceremony at the Dongsheng stadium in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China – with Miss Bermuda Rochelle Minors among the 121 contestants taking part.
The past week the contestants have taken part in rehearsals, costume fittings, and hair and make-up trials for the opening ceremonies.
Miss Minors is pictured wearing traditional Mongolian dress, which all the contestants donned for the finale of the opening ceremony.
The 22-year-old student and fashion model has made the semi-finals of both the talent and model portion, and will compete for the Miss World title on August 18th.
Bermuda is one of only 11 countries [out of 121] to have our representative make the semi-finals of both preliminary contests held so far.

Wow! Until I went to the larger photo, I actually thought Ms. Bermuda was in modified Gombey dress! Interesting similarities, eh!
Ms. Bermuda, we are all justifiably very proud of you! For a tiny pin-prick in the middle of the ocean to be among the top 10% out of more than 100 countries is truly amazing! You should be proud of yourself, as this is all your doing – not just beauty, but talent and poise.
