Photos/Results: 2012 Selena’s BBQ, Block Party
Selena’s 3rd Annual Causeway BBQ & Block Party was held yesterday [Sept 2] on Kindley Field in St George’s, and locals converged upon the East End to earn trophies and barbeque bragging rights.
By the end of the day the trophy winners were declared with Char Baby BBQ winning Best Hamburger, The Bredrens winning Best Ribs, Up In Smoke winning Best Chicken, and Road Kill Grill winning Best Picnic Plate.
The public had an opportunity to purchase a limited amount of wristbands which allowed them to taste test items from the competitors and then vote for the People’s Choice Awards. Under Dog was awarded Best Hamburger, Road Kill Grill was awarded Best Chicken and Furberts’ Picnic Express won Best Ribs.
In the highest point category Road Kill Grill took top prize of $250, Up In Smoke won second prize of $150 and Char Baby BBQ took home $100 for third place.
A new trophy was introduced this year for Best Overall Presentation which included judging on their food and work space cleanliness and organization. The overall winners for this year’s event was Roaming Chefs.
In addition to the BBQ contest, there were other activities including a pie eating competition, watermelon eating competition, DJ playing music, piggy back races, mechanical bull rides and fun slides.

Please correct your story. You have the over all winner wrong. It was actually Road Kill Grill. They won Overall, best picnic and best chicken.
