TV Channel To Launch: Live View Of Harbour

December 3, 2013

Bermuda CableVision today announced that current subscribers will have the ability to view Hamilton Harbour via live camera on channel 97 starting on December 7th from 141 Front Street.

The new feed is available via a special camera installed on the rooftop of the 10-storey building located at 141 Front Street and owned by Seon Place Limited. Starting on December 8th, the camera will continue to show Hamilton Harbour during the day and will feature seasonal music and a fireplace during the evenings.

Bermuda real estate developer, Sir John Swan says: “I am very pleased to partner with Bermuda CableVision on this initiative.

“Bermudian residents will now have the ability to watch the activity in the harbour on their home televisions – with the service eventually being provided online. With the boat parade and holidays fast approaching, the new channel will enable residents to enjoy the activities of the season.”

Terry Roberson, CEO, Bermuda CableVision says: “We are very excited to provide new content to one of our existing basic channels, which will be available to all of Bermuda CableVision’s subscribers.

“Channel 97 will provide our customers with a view of the harbour and will give those who are unable to get out of their homes the ability to see the boat parade or fireworks from their living room. We thank Sir John Swan for partnering with us and for helping to make this channel possible.”

Thank you Cablevision. That is an amazing gesture to offer. Bringing joy and cheer to homes with persons who prefer not to go out or are unable for whatever reason. Sir John, your unconditional giving never ceases to amaze me. May you and your family forever be blessed and not judged for all the good deeds you’ve done in Bermuda. All the many positive deeds for our country.

  7. Triangle Drifter says:

Great! Long overdue but what is really needed are controllable webcams. How many of us go hunting for webcams when planning a trip? Yes, there have been a few from time to time. One overlooking Front St & one overlooking Horseshoe Bay would be good.

We are way behind in putting these relatively inexpensive things to work.

    • Johnboy says:

There was one before one Front Street some years ago. I think on the painting studio or somewhere nearby….

  8. Meh says:

I would have love to have this avalible when I was away in school

Too bad you didn’t stay in school longer… bad grammar and spelling!

I hope it is the same angle as the photo. It would be a shame not to see the smoke billowing out of the Belco smoke stacks.

A great gesture by all involved.
Cablevision, can you supply us with the shows that are scheduled (espn, hgtv and Awe) in particular are never reliable. Also get the Barclays Premier league games on,or many of us will go to our computers and stop patronizing your business!

  11. Truth is killin' me... says:

SPORTSMAX BLOWS FOR PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL!!! BRING IN SKYSPORTS FOR THE FEED!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Concerned Citizen says:

Yes cable vision, forget the webcam stuff for a moment. As you can see, WE DO NOT appreciate the fact that OUR football, sorry, EPL football, is being withheld from US of late. Ball is one of the few things that unite all of us on this rock. Maybe I can be a little clearer….come this weekend, until the end of the season, make sure that we get OUR ball. Do you want 10,000 people show up at your office? Stop f……. around!

  13. Rob says:

Why is it that every saturday morning just before the EPL football starts SMAX 2 channel 251 goes off air. Its goodbye Cablevision if it happens this weekend. Who’s not paying the bill?

  14. Wat de blink says:

Eh Eh….what de ass I miss? So you mean to tell me, you people have time and money to set up a damn camera to sit there and look at the harbour all day – tell me how many jobs you have around Cablevision that need filling? Because, apparently you have money to waste broadcasting the damn Hamilton Harbour…But on the other hand – leave de camera deh. Perhaps I can see who jookin’ each other on the boats in the harbour. You people really find shit to do don’t you. So tell me, after the parade done, and the holiday season over, to I have to pay to watch the harbour? Perhaps, if I agree to monitor the camera I can get a neighbourhood watch bounty if I report crimes I see on the camera. Jeesh…one thing…Bermuda get’s an “A” for creativity. LMAO The effin’ Hamilton Harbour, who would’ve thought.
