CFU Caribbean Women’s Cup Final Schedule

The Caribbean Football Union [CFU] confirmed the final round schedule for the inaugural Caribbean Women’s Cup, with Bermuda set to take on Jamaica, Haiti and Puerto Rico.

Trinidad & Tobago will host the eight-team event to be played August 19-26, 2014.

Bermuda advanced to the finals after finishing on top of Group 3 in May of this year, defeating St. Kitts & Nevis 3-1, playing to a 2-2 tie with the Cayman Islands and recording a 5-0 defeat over the Turks & Caicos.

The Women’s National Team players for that round included Jadea Smith, Teara Thomas, Jenay Edness, Rayni Maybury, Chelsea Harvey, Kashintae Fox, Eva Frazzoni, Khyla Brangman, Ebonie Burgess, K’shaela Burch Waldron, Aaliyah Nolan, Akeyla Furbert, Waynesha Bean, Dominique Richardson, Marley Christian, Shuntae Todd, Sarai Paul, Zahra Gibbons, Jaylen Bean, and Cheyra Bell.

The team returning after their successful showing in the first round earlier this year:

The host Trinidad & Tobago will be joined by the five first-round group winners — Antigua & Barbuda, Bermuda, Jamaica, Haiti and Martinique – plus the top two first-round runners-up – Puerto Rico and St. Kitts & Nevis.

The winner and runner-up from both Group A and Group B will earn places at the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, which will determine the Confederation’s World Cup representatives later this year in the United States.

The regional championships is doubling as a qualifying competition for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which Canada will host from June 6-July 5, 2015.

Bermuda has been drawn in Group A alongside Jamaica, Haiti and Puerto Rico, while Group B consists of hosts Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Kitts & Nevis and Martinique.

Bermuda is set to open their account against Haiti on August 19th, then play Jamaica on August 21st, and then match up against Puerto Rico on August 23rd.
