Deep Fryer Fire At Sung Sing Restaurant

At approximately 9:25am this morning [Jan 12] the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a “deep fryer involved with fire” at the Sung Sing Restaurant on Victoria Street in Hamilton.

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident with one fire appliance staffed with 4 firefighters.

Fire service spokesperson Sergeant Delton White said, “Upon arrival we found a deep fryer involved with fire with flames visible. Two firefighters dressed in full protective clothing and breathing apparatus then used a DCP fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.”

“There were no injuries as a result of the fire, but the deep fryer received heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.”
