Two Men Arrested After Shooting On Court Street

The police have arrested two men following the shooting on Court Street which resulted in a 32-year old man being injured.

A police spokesperson said, “About 1:27am on Sunday 22nd December 2019, an armed suspect walked onto Court Street.

“At the time there was a group of men standing on the sidewalk just outside of the Spinning Wheel Night Club. The suspect ran towards the group of men and discharged a firearm.

“There were a number of shots discharged and a thirty-two year old male was struck in his left shoulder/upper back. The group of men dispersed as the suspect continued running on Court Street and entered the Spinning Wheel Night Club.

“Once inside the establishment, the suspect again discharged the firearm however it appears no one was hit. The suspect exited Spinning Wheel, ran north on Court Street, and made good his escape into the parking lot on Elliot Street.

“The victim was transported to King Edward Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which at this time are not considered to be life threatening. It was, however, determined that he would have to be flown overseas for further treatment.

“Meanwhile acting on information gathered, police this afternoon arrested two suspects, a thirty-one year old male and a nineteen year old male, in connection with this latest shooting.

“A number of individuals are assisting police with enquiries, but police are asking anyone with information on this incident to please contact Detective Inspector, Kenten Trott, on, 295-0011 or the Confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477.”
