Unfortunately Bermudians can’t call ahead for an ambulance, is this why is it that no matter where you see an accident the police and fire are on scene and long after you pass the scene eventually you’ll see an ambulance going to the accident and I can’t help thinking I hope the person wasn’t hurt bad and has to lay on the road for 25 minutes or so waiting on KEMH showing up, why not give Fire Rescue an ambulance and let them take the victim to the hospital saving a LOT of time and maybe a life, I do remember they used to have one and that was when the ONLY did fire

Is this all about KEMH not wanting to give up business, I’m sure the person laying on the road with the bone coming through their leg or that has a head injury would benefit from reaching medical care 20 or 25 minutes or less earlier.

@ Revel: KEMH staff are not volunteer, how would having more volunteers decrease the time it takes for the KEMH ambulance staff to arrive?
