Commercial Softball League Officials Elected

Dean Williams was returned as president of the Commercial Softball League at Tuesday’s annual general meeting.

The winter season is expected to start on Monday, February 18 at the Michael Preece Softball Stadium at Bernard Park.
Team registration is due by Friday, February 8 at 5pm. Anyone wishing to receive registration forms may e-mail Danny Cook at to have one sent to them. The cost is $875 for co-ed teams and $825 for 5&5, men’s and women’s teams.

At the AGM the Hit and Sit Rule was discussed, which is where a batter hits a home run out of the park and immediately goes to the bench with the run(s) counting rather than having him or her round the bases. It was put in place as a time-saving measure, and this is now optional as the batter can choose if they want to round the bases or go straight to the bench.

The full slate of officers elected: Dean Williams (president), Terence Corday (vice president), Tache King (secretary), Danny Cook (treasurer), Paulo Arruda (scheduler) and Don Burgess (public relations officer).
