Lol the sleeper, newspaper reading, big clunky van is heading west, lol. Ever seen them moving this thing, big entourage just to take it from point A to point B, big waste.

Good job but isn’t the Police Station right around the corner? It would also be nice to see Community Officers walking through the community and not waiting for the community to come visit them in the big bus. A few walkabouts by the Community Officers would allow them to better get to know the community instead of the usual preaching to the converted because that’s all that will take the time to visit the bus…. If any.

A neighbour of mine an 80 year old caught the bus to express her concerns and fears as a woman who lives alone. From time to time she receives a visit from a male in the neighbourhood who has been terrorising her for years! She has complained in the past but was only made to seem she is crazy. Her visit to the Market Place location left her wishing she had not bothered. To add to her dismay a young student accompanied by his mother dropped by to see if the student could be allowed access to the inside of the vehicle. He was a curious young boy whose interest wwas allegedly thwarted by two “mean female officers” who denied him access. And we dare wonder why our young people dislike or distrust the police? I talk to my children almost ever day about the role of the police and encourage them to respect and recognise that they are there to protect them. There are many adults out there who have no regard for the police. Their children almost always adopt this attitude. So while some are busy building up the police just as many if not more are even more busy tearing them down. And guess what? Those two females who were on duty at the Market Place venue only helped to endorse the negative feelings that exist in our communities.
