Tropical Storm Dorian Continues South Of Island

Tropical Storm Dorian is continuing to gain strength as it pushes west across the Atlantic Ocean, however the Bermuda Weather Service said it is not a threat to Bermuda at this time.

The storm is currently sustaining maximum winds of about 95 kilometres per hour, with its center currently located about 1,100 kilometres west of the Cape Verde Islands. There are currently no land threats from Dorian.

Dorian is the fourth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, following tropical storms Andrea, Barry, and Chantal.

The Bermuda Weather Service said its closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 887 nautical miles to the southeast at 6am on Sunday, July 28, 2013.
