Transatlantic Sail in 2014: Bermuda To Iceland

Next year there will be an opportunity to sail from Bermuda to Iceland across the subtropical and subpolar gyres of the North Atlantic, to study microplastic pollution abundance and affects on life in the ocean.

The bookings are through Another World Adventures for the trip, which is being hosted by 5 Gyres.

Their promo text said: “You’ll spend three weeks totally hands-on sailing on board a second generation yacht built for the Global Challenge Race learning about sailing and science while working in teams to make the expedition safe and successful.

During this 20 day whirlwind trip through the northern reaches of the Gulf Stream, the crew will learn all they need to know to sail the this exciting vessel – seamanship, sail handling, and navigation.
