Court: 44 Year Old Man Remanded Into Custody

January 29, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 29], a 44 year old  man was remanded into custody and sent to the Drug Treatment Court.

Alexander Christopher was remanded into custody and sent to the Drug Treatment Court for follow up and a Social Inquiry Report was also ordered.

This happened after Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo heard the evidence supporting two charges of theft. The first was that he stole items valued at around $90 from the Phoenix store in December 2014, and a rain jacket valued at $440 from Island Trading Co Ltd in October 2014.

In December, Mr Christopher’s actions were recorded on CCTV and in October, shop staff had chased and captured Mr Christopher, and had recorded the capture on their smartphones.

In each case, police had been called in and Mr Christopher’s actions had been closely followed up by police.
