It’s certainly a pleasure having someone of your stature visiting us here on the Island…Please Reverend Bernice King do feel welcomed, also do not hesitate coming back to aid them in need of social / spiritual support etc.

  2. stunned... says:

would any of her parents have attended a meeting with a Premier/Leader of a country wearing jeans?

    • Vote for Me says:

That is a valid comment. It would be interesting to know if this was a planned visit or impromptu.

      • Mockingjay says:

She’s looking at him like, how can you identify with my cause.

        • Come Correct says:

@ stunned. Who cares, I can clean up but take my shirt off I’m tattooed from neck to waist. My ink doesn’t take from my words but it’s still there whether you can see it or not.

          @ Mockingay…you’re a real Kunta.

          • stunned... says:

conversely, would it have been appropriate for the Premier to greet Reverend King wearing jeans?

    • Bae says:

She was dressed in formal attire at her speaking event (evening gown, heels).

One of the event hosts took her and her assistant on sightseeing rounds and the attire for that was very casual. They had her laying down visiting with dolphins. That’s just the way the schedule was planned out for her. She actually doesn’t wear jeans a lot.

      • stunned... says:

Bae – you sound like a nice person. thank you for your reply.

    • First of all if you really knew Elder Bernice you would know what are true style is, and she is very down to earth and a real person, and she is not one that is known to get all caught up in the glitz of things, this is also not her first visit to Bermuda and has been here several times before, try doing some research on here latest venture that she started prior to leaving Bishop Eddie Long’s church at new Birth and it might just amaze you that she feels more down to earth, with the people she represents, just by being herself, so stiff necks get over it.

  3. Vote for Me says:

    All,
If the opportunity exists, please ensure you listen to her address at the ESTU banquet. Her emphasis on non violence 365 is quite refreshing since it requires all of us to seek to elevate and not denigrate. It speaks volumes about labout negotiations and Bermuda’s political reality.

We must mutually seek the higher ground when we fundamentally disagree.

That can only happen when we seek to see all issues from each other’s perspective.

  4. Who's Moderator? says:

    Yawn

When you gonna meet with Kingsley Tweed Bro?

  5. Hey says:

This is such a legendary moment for Bermuda!!!! Cool!!!

  6. PPamplin says:

It was indeed a privilege to have had the opportunity to listen to Dr. King in her keynote speech on Saturday night. One of her very powerful messages was to admonish us to not put party politics before country.

If ever there was a message of cohesion, Dr. King delivered it. Thank you Dr. King. May you continue to have God’s blessing on your work and your impact within the United States and the world at large. You are indeed a treasure

  7. Real Deal says:

    AMEN

  8. Transparency says:

Best Premier in a long time!
