Visible Police Presence On Land & Sea For AC
The Bermuda Police Service will have a very visible presence both on land and sea for this America’s Cup Louis Vuitton Series.
“There will be a full compliment of officers and reserve officers and the full police boating fleet will be active during the race weekend,” a police spokesperson said.
“Members of the boating community are encouraged to obey directions given by Royal Bermuda Regiment and civilian race course Marshals. They will be all flying green ACBDA flags and will be easily identifiable.
“A notice to mariners has been issued under the authority of the Minister making it an offence to enter restricted areas and to fail to obey the 5 knot order which is in place in Hamilton Harbor and the area around the race course. Marine Police will be on-hand to support Bermuda Regiment and civilian race course Marshals.
“Reminder – the flying of drones or any radio controlled unmanned air craft is strictly prohibited in any area around the Great Sound by authority of the Civil Aviation Authority, which is a temporary restriction put in place until Monday.”
This is gonna to be interesting.. You know how some Bermudians think that they are entitled to go anywhere they please on the water at any time. Let’s see if spectator anchorage areas marshal’s directions are respected.
Well they were today. Good job by marshals
