Harneys: Best Offshore Law Firm Client Service
Leading international offshore law firm Harneys has been named Best Offshore Law Firm – Client Service at the HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards announced on 21 April 2016. The awards recognise firms that have provided leading client service, innovation and expertise in financial services.
The awards follow a year of increased activity from Harneys’ Funds practice. The firm has acted on a number of ground-breaking deals which in Europe have included the launch of the first Cyprus hedge fund, which is also the first investing into Iran following UN sanctions lifting in 2016 and a thriving London funds practice which has seen the firm act for clients of all sizes, from start-up hedge funds and emerging managers to global multi-billion dollar investment institutions.
In Cayman, Harneys expanded with the hire of three funds specialists including Appleby’s global head of investment funds, Ian Gobin, whilst in Bermuda it, added insurance-linked securities specialist Michael Skrbic.
In Latin America it continues to be ranked as the only Tier 1 offshore firm and represents some of the region’s largest fund structures, and in Asia the firm has grown to be one of the largest offshore firms in Hong Kong, marking 2016 by opening a representative office in Shanghai.
