BizCamp Students Visit Hub Culture Village
Aspiring young Bermudian entrepreneurs attending BizCamp were hosted at Hub Culture Village Friday afternoon where they experienced this invitation-led global collaboration network.
Founder Stan Stalnaker explained to the young participants how Hub Culture’s four functions – Pavilions [places to collaborate], Knowledge Brokerage [consulting and deal services], AI [Zeke artificial intelligence, and Ven, a global digital currency which are all fused together to support cool places for meetings and networking such as Hub Culture Innovation Campus and Beach Club at Ariel Sands in Bermuda
YEI’s BizCamp Participants Nakiiah Baker, Charis Burrows, Shalom-Yasha Cannonier, Jahmir Celstine, Abiyah Dill, Mekha Dill, Ronesha Denhym Rose James-Dill, Tyler Kelly, Naphisa Smith, Naphtali Smith, Sari Smith, Daria Symonds, and, Sale Dyer, with Hub Culture’s Stan Stalnaker, Jess Southall and YEI’s Joe Mahoney, Philip Trott and Dallas Scott.
This was the second group of Bermudan teenagers to have the opportunity to visit this mobile campus village with meeting cabanas, a creative studio, a virtual reality unit, restaurant and lounge areas with fiber-optic Internet.
They experience firsthand the virtual reality pavilion, learn about “Cradle to Cradle” sustainability thinking, and began to understand how virtual currency is quickly growing to be a leading force in the global economy. Mr. Stalnaker, an economist had also shared his vision of this merger of online and physical world environments to the first session of BizCamp students on July 14th.
BizCamp which is operated by The Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative [YEI] in conjunction with the Department of ICT Policy & Innovation has been conducting two 7-day BizCamps at Bermuda College for young Bermudian 13 to 17 years old.
This second session group will present their comprehensive BizPlans on Tuesday, July 25 to a distinguished panel of judges including Marisa Stones, Director of ICT Policy & Innovation, Rolfe Commissiong MP, President at Black Star Communications Ltd, Sean Moran, Head of Business Development, BDA, Niklas Traub, Managing Partner of IID Partners, and Rees Fletcher, Trustee of the Chubb Charitable Foundation – Bermuda and Former Chair of ACE Bermuda Insurance.
All are welcome to attend these final presentations beginning at 1:00 in North Hall of Bermuda College.
