Court: Driver Fined $1200, Banned For 18 Months
A drink-driver who lost control of his bike has been banned from the roads for 18 months.
Narasiman Chittibabu admitted driving when the proportion of alcohol in is system was over the legal limit when he appeared at Magistrates’ Court this morning.
The court heard the 47-year-old crashed his bike at about 3.30am on St John’s Road in Pembroke in February of this year.
When police arrived at the scene they came across Chittibabu trying to re-start his motorcycle.
Officers could see he had suffered injuries to his hands as a result of the crash.
He confirmed that he had drunk a few beers with his friends earlier in the evening and he was arrested him on suspicion of drink-driving because he was unsteady on his feet.
At court today Chittibabu of Devonshire was banned from driving for 18 months and fined $1,200.
