Video: Sunday Dec 16th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Nkosi Hollis will audition for ‘The Voice’, Deloitte Bermuda donated over $20,000 to The Family Centre, Department of Public Transportation staff donated $2,260 to help offset Anthony Lodge’s medical costs and Katie Bennett was awarded the Chamberlain Scholarship were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres won the ISU Grand Prix in Canada, Bermuda’s Women’s Under 15 National Team coach Vance Brown has been nominated for a Concacaf Award and robotic caterpillars helped teach students coding.
Other good news stories included the Community Action Team continuing its Christmas initiative, the annual Christmas Shoebox Giveaway being held, the Green family donating $18,000 worth of school supply resources to the 18 public primary schools in Bermuda, Ed Broking opening a new operation in Bermuda, and a bake sale supporting the children’s feeding program.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of Christmas trees being decorated, the Christmas Boat Parade viewing village, the Hamilton Princess’ Christmas Market, a cross country award presentation, the Hamilton Christmas Boat Parade, and the PALS Holiday Fair and raffle draw.
