Video: Sunday Feb 3rd ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that ten outstanding young people will compete in the Mr & Miss CedarBridge Pageant on February 9, KPMG’s Danielle Richards, Chelsy Furtado, and Brianna Buchanan earned professional designations, the Bank of Butterfield donated $20,000 for school supplies, and Devonshire Parish Council awarded scholarships to Davina Cannonier, Kyesja Hypolite, De-Aun Lodge, and Kiara Rogers were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the Bermuda Union of Teachers celebrated their 100th anniversary, Jesse Washington won the Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle in Texas, Pedal for Paralympics hosted a successful event, Dante Leverock scored for Sligo Rovers, Lamont Marshall broke Bermuda’s Indoor 5000m record, and the National Museum of Bermuda is offering free admission in February.
Other good news stories included Clarien Bank’s annual Holiday GiveBack Campaign raising a record total of more than $18,000 for Meals on Wheels, a Saltus student project raising funds for charities, and Fresh Breath Dental holding a ‘Share the Love Dinner,’ serving a five course meal to 50 people in order to “show appreciation.”
