Pembroke Rotary Club Hosts Student IT Quiz
The Pembroke Rotary Club sponsored a Student IT Quiz to “play its part in developing the IT skills of Bermuda’s young people and exposing them to the opportunities available in Fintech and other fields as the country moves onto the global blockchain stage.”
The IT Quiz was held on the evening of 9th May, 2019 at the Mount Saint Agnes Academy. The Quiz was open to all Senior Schools on the island, and teams from Berkeley Institute, BHS, CedarBridge Academy, Mount Saint Agnes, Somersfield, and Warwick Academy participated.

The evening was a great success with teams responding to a series of questions and gaining points for each correct answer.
In the end, the team of Maya Leighton, Justin Stovall, Andrew Vrieze, and Kayla Caldwell from Mount Saint Agnes won the event.
In second place, from CedarBridge was the team of Justin Moniz, Jordan DeSilva, Malachi Butterfield, and Zonico Gilbert.
The third place team from Warwick Academy was made up of Nathan Cabral, Kieron Rushe, Denton Trott, and Danial Maske.
Participating from the other schools were:
- Berkeley Institute: Isaiah McCaskie, Jayden Williams-Woodley, Ella Baldonado, and Ryan Spence.
- BHS: Erin Kelly, Gabriella Quinn-Sirera, Jasmin Williams, and Salayah Stange.
- Somersfield: Ethan Etemadi, Jacques Stefani, and Stefan Decouto.
The Pembroke Rotary Club said they “would like to especially thank the Deloitte who was the lead sponsor of the event: The following also sponsored and made valuable contributions to the event: Red Laser, Digicel, Fireminds and ConnecTech.”
The Club also extended special thanks to the judges for the event: Coral Wells, Ronnie Viera, and Ciera Fox.
