A 44-year-old woman has been “located unharmed after she was reported missing this morning” the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is happy to report that a 44-year-old Devonshire woman has been located unharmed after she was reported missing this morning [Thursday, June 13th].
The police said she “was last seen Wednesday evening [June 12th] and reported missing by a family member the next morning [Thursday, June 13th], after her car was found parked and unoccupied at Spittal Pond nature reserve in Smith’s parish Thursday morning.”
The police added that a “coordinated search of the area involving family members as well as various BPS units including K9, Marine, Police Support Unit and other uniformed officers, plus Parish Constables – with the assistance of Department of Parks personnel and Mr. Brandon Morrison [President, Bermuda Aerial Drone Flyers] – eventually located” the woman in the area known as Portuguese Rock [formerly Spanish Rock].
“The search took approximately three hours,” the police said. “She was then transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for medical assessment.”
During and after the search, BPS Chaplain Reverend Dr. Kevin Santucci was on scene to provide support to the woman’s family, and the police have thanked ”everyone that assisted in the search.”
