Video: Sunday Sept 19th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
While this week was far from the best week for the island, there was still plenty of good news to celebrate, most notably our U20 women’s football team smashing through the competition scoring a total of 9 goals while conceding zero to qualify for the next round in the Concacaf Championship.
Aurum Fund Management donating $12,500 to the Bermuda Zoological Society, Zenawi Bowen and Joshua Joseph scoring five goals in a Thomas College victory, Nahki Wells scoring for Bristol City, six students earning Bermuda Arts Council grants and Elijah Daley winning medals at the Markham Swim Meet were some of the other positive news stories from the past week.
Additional good news stories included Julia Hawley and Ashley Yearwood being appointed as leadership for the Junior Pan Am Games, Bermuda Institute students writing a book on the Covid-19 pandemic, Andra Simons releasing his book Turtlemen, Sydney Fischer scoring in a Blair Academy win, Dominique Brown dominating at the True Force Championships, and Bacardi celebrating Bermuda’s black-owned bars and restaurants.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Garden Club’s Flower Flash, a 3D look at the Sandcastle Competition, and action from the Golf Match Play Championships.
In an effort to highlight some of positive news happening in our community, we supplement our standard morning and evening email newsletters with a special Sunday “Good News” email newsletter edition, and also produce a highlight video and article which strictly focuses on the positive news about Bermuda and Bermudians from the past week.
