BNT Annual Plant & Bake Sale On February 12
The Bermuda National Trust’s [BNT] Plant & Bake Sale is set to be held on Saturday [Feb 12] from 8.30am to 12.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda National Trust’s popular Plant & Bake Sale is set to go ahead rain or shine this Saturday, February 12 from 8:30am to noon at BNT headquarters, Waterville, 2 Pomander Road, Paget.”
Karen Border, Executive Director of the BNT, said, “Our annual Plant & Bake Sale is one of the most anticipated Bermuda National Trust events and thankfully it has not fallen victim to Covid this year.
“We invite everyone to enjoy a morning by the water’s edge at Waterville browsing a fabulous selection of plants, from bedding annuals to unusual trees and shrubs, native and endemic species, Bermuda roses, succulents, palms and much more. All items are graciously donated by Bermuda’s plant nurseries, private plant growers and landscape companies.
“You can help reduce your own carbon footprint by planting some new specimens in your garden. There will be plant experts on hand to help you select plants suitable for your needs and explain the best conditions for growing them successfully.”
The spokesperson said, “In addition to plants, there will be fresh vegetables and fruits for sale, donated by local farmers, as well as home-made preserves and local honey.
“Thanks to many wonderful volunteers we will have a wide selection of home-made sweet and savoury baked goods, including breads, scones, cakes and cupcakes, cookies, muffins, gluten free items and Valentine’s Day themed items. You can purchase a coffee or tea and enjoy your treats on site or take them home with you. Don’t forget to be green and bring your own re-usable bag.”
“All funds raised by the Plant & Bake Sale help the Bermuda National Trust to fulfill its mission to protect and promote Bermuda’s unique natural and cultural heritage for everyone, forever.”
