“The UK and the Overseas Territories stand united in condemning the Russian Government,” British Minister Amanda Milling said, adding that ”the UK sanctions regimes apply to all Overseas Territories.”
During yesterday’s session in British Parliament, Conservative MP Nigel Mills asked, “What discussions are the Government having with our Overseas Territories and Crown dependencies to ensure that the measures we are taking on illicit finance are being supported by them—that those same rules are being introduced in their own territories as well?”
In response, Minister of State, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Amanda Milling said, “The UK and the Overseas Territories stand united in condemning the Russian Government. The UK sanctions regimes apply to all Overseas Territories, which are completely in step with the UK and our international allies in implementing sanctions against Russia.”
Yesterday’s session in British Parliament also saw Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky become the first foreign leader to virtually address the U.K.’s House of Commons, delivering a historic address that was shown in the chamber via a live feed.
