Video: Sunday July 17th ‘Good News’ Spotlight

News that commemorative posters featuring Olympic medalist Clarence Hill were unveiled, swimmers won multiple medals at the CCCAN meet in Barbados, Alexis Lodge, Maya Peart and Amber Furtado earned scholarships, and Aaron Dyer earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, Sincere Hall scored for Hull City U/23, Leilanni Nesbeth and Nia Christopher helped Coppermine win the UWS Division, the GoToBermuda yacht won the North Atlantic race, and Campbell Patton won the ILCA7 Atlantic Coast Championships in Larchmont, New York.

Other good news stories included 13 participants of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award receiving their gold certificates and pins from the Governor, Kallan Richardson being named the ABIR/Arch Scholar, Miguel Simas earning the ABIR/RenaissanceRe Scholarship, and BELCO announcing the hiring of 20 summer student interns.

More good news included Christopher Joell-Deshields being named in the 2022 Pride Power List, talented chefs Michiko Campbell and Dr. Teneika Eve combining forces to open Chiko & T’s Restaurant/Catering at the Devonshire Rec, blood donors winning prizes from Hamilton Princess, and Berkeley Institute student Chloe Morton earning a bursary to attend United World Colleges in India.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Mirrors PeerForward Program Workshop, a 3D look at the Clipper yachts in Bermuda, the Futsal Youth League awards, Clarence Hill posters being unveiled, DoE participants receiving their gold awards, and eight new Corrections Officers graduating.
