Sanshou Fighters Win Open Fights In Indonesia
Bermuda Sanshou Association’s Kallan Todd and Krista Dyer won their opening bouts at the World Kickboxing & Karate Association World Championships taking place in Bali, Indonesia.
As 16-year-old Todd did not have any junior competitors in his K-1 Division, he was matched with 36-year-old Mehran Cheriki of Iran, and he won his match by split decision.
Dyer, who has been confirmed for the 63kg Female Emerge Series Final in K-1 rules, took on New Zealand’s Michelle Ihaka in a Low Kick Kickboxing bout which she dominated, claiming a unanimous decision win.
BSA Team Manager and Pan Am certified san da judge Nolette Webb also officiated during the opening day of matches.
