BMA Aim To ‘Inspire Inclusion’ On Women’s Day
Today, on International Women’s Day [IWD], the women of the Bermuda Monetary Authority are “standing strong together to #InspireInclusion.”
A spokesperson said, “Women play a prominent role in the BMA’s labour force, with a growing number serving in senior positions and strong representation on the Board of Directors. In 2024, the Authority will build further upon this foundation by setting broader and more formalised Diversity Equity and Inclusion goals and strategies, including those pertaining to gender.
“As part of this year’s IWD celebration, the BMA will welcome its female employees to the BMA House for a special IWD luncheon.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to applaud the many outstanding women at the BMA and thank them for the tireless dedication they bring to their work across the Authority year-round,” said Shanna Lespere, Deputy CEO.
“I am truly honoured to serve alongside the more than 140 talented women at the BMA every single day of the year. I would like to encourage everyone in Bermuda to empower and support the inclusion and success of women in their workplaces, as well as at home and across community.”
The spokesperson said, “Celebrated globally on 8 March each year, IWD was created to bring attention to women’s achievements around the world. As part of its annual campaign each year, IWD marks a call to action aimed at accelerating gender parity to advance its mission. This year’s unifying global call to action is ‘inspire inclusion’ [#InspireInclusion]. If you want to learn more about what increasing inclusion for women looks like, visit the IWD campaign webpage.
“The mission of IWD includes advancing and elevating the women who are driving change in technology, communities and workplaces, forging inclusive work cultures and support for women’s careers, celebrating the accomplishments of female creatives and athletes, and promoting activities and that uplift and inspire women to pursue their goals free of barriers and biases.”
