News that Tammy Richardson-Augustus was named the 2024 Woman of the Year, Tyler Kerr won his first professional Muay Thai match in Thailand, and Dr. Dana Selassie will speak in Dubai were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the Chicago Red Stars released a statement officially announced the signing of Bermudian Leilanni Nesbeth, Ashton Bell, Ashleigh Mayo, and debutant Trevor Smith claimed silver medals in Ohio, and Saundre “Dash” Simmons won his third straight fight after stopping Marcell Sams Jr in the first round.
Other good news stories included Kaleidoscope Camp builds on Bermuda National Gallery Show, the Galway Review has published five poems by Bermudian poet Nancy Anne Miller, Kenny Leseur & Butler win Big East match play, Stephen Dickinson wins UK Club Regatta, C.A.R.E. Learning Centre founder and director Dr. Neletha Butterfield recently earned certification as an Adult Education Retention Specialist, the City of Hamilton presented a donation of $1500 to the Coalition for the Protection of Children.
