Sandcastle Artist Crafts Piece For Today Show
Bermuda Sandcastle Competition’s Hannah Emmerson displayed her artistic skills on the Today Show with Hoda & Jenna, where the hosts praised her sandcastle as “unbelievable” and “amazing.”
They posted the images below on Facebook, saying, “So about last Thursday. I was so incredibly blessed to be asked to build a sandcastle for Today Show with Hoda & Jenna, who were coming to film their latest show at The Loren Hotels in Bermuda.
“Determined to do the best piece possible on their beach, I arrived the night before and packed and piled for four hours. The sand at pink beach doesn’t like to play nice but we got there. I was then back first thing in the morning to carve for the next three hours. I could hear the cheers of the show being taped in front of a live audience, all the beautiful people in hair and makeup while I tried to wipe sand out of my eyes and nostrils.
“In a whirl of people and cameras, the time arrived. I sucked in, tried not to get tongue tied, answered the questions, smiled, and wooosh – just like that – it was a wrap. Time for a quick selfie and the crowd moved on. I think this might have been my five minutes of fame, but honestly, I’m still in shock.”
