[Written by Patrick Bean]
DailyMale Men’s Health Clinic is set to host it’s first tag day on Friday, June 14, a Pre-Father’s Day event that desires to paint Bermuda blue in spreading awareness toward curtailment and prevention of prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Fresh from a second, successful pop-up venture at St George’s Cricket Club last Saturday, DailyMale — among the Island’s newest charities, having gained registered status in February — will feature a bevy of have volunteers at various locations collecting donations.
“We are proud to announce that the DailyMale — Charity 1041 — is having our first annual Tag Day,” said the charity’s Co-founder Jade Robinson. “ our Pre-Fathers Day Tag Day is in honour of all the men in our lives and to honour those we have lost. “Together, we are supporting our dads, brothers, sons, partners, and friends by screening, raising awareness, funding life changing research, campaigning for change and providing much needed support.
“We ask all of Bermuda to please join us by wearing denim and “pale blue” in support of Prostate Cancer Awareness.”
Funds collected will go toward the purchase of a purpose-built screening van, as well as other operational costs. The van, with an estimated cost of $300,000, will also allow for screening beyond those initially focused upon by DailyMale, with the vehicle also to be made available for use by other health related charitable partners.
DailyMale has and is reaching out to Island churches, schools and other organisations concerned with the health and welfare of the at-risk male population to volunteer collective membership and/or individual support.
Places remain available for presenter/collectors at various locations. Interested parties should follow the Pre-Father’s Day Tag Day sign up link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4AA5AB2BA0F5CE9-50038068-prefathers.
