Butterfield Bank Closing Early On Friday
[Updated] Butterfield’s Banking Centres will close early on August 16 due to Hurricane Ernesto, with a planned reopening on August 19th.
A spokesperson said, “Please be advised that due to Hurricane Ernesto, all of our Banking Centres will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 16, and for the entirety of the weekend. We anticipate reopening on Monday, August 19, at 9 a.m., provided it is safe to do so.
“Outdoor ATMs will be temporarily unavailable from Friday morning, the St George ATM vestibule from Friday afternoon, and the Front Street ATM vestibule from Friday evening.
“Clients can continue to use Butterfield Online as normal, but please note that the cut-off period for No-Wait Deposits will be 12 p.m. on Friday.
“We encourage you to take the necessary precautions to prepare for Ernesto’s arrival and visit our Banking Centres and ATMs today [Thursday] to ensure any bank-related items are completed in time. Stay Safe, Bermuda!”
Update 7.26pm: A spokesperson said, “Please be advised that due to a change in the forecasted arrival of Hurricane Ernesto, all of our Banking Centres will now close at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 16, and will remain closed for the entirety of the weekend.
“Clients can continue to use Butterfield Online as normal, but please note that the cut-off period for No-Wait Deposits will now be 10 a.m. on Friday.
“We still anticipate reopening on Monday, August 19, at 9 a.m., provided it is safe to do so.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
