BSSF All-Star Football Matches On Saturday

The Bermuda School Sports Federation will be hosting its annual All Star Football matches on Saturday at the PHC Field starting at 11:00.

A spokesperson said, “Two matches will get underway at 11:00 with the middle school and primary school girls taking center stage. The Primary School East team will be led by Kierra Broadley- Samuel from St. George’s Preparatory. Recent KO Cup MVP Broadley-Samuels has scored goals in bunches throughout the season in both the girls and boys league teams leading both teams in scoring. She had an impressive haul of 19 goals in the girls league. Elliot Primary’s Ruth Odede will hope to keep her current form in goal for the east. The northlands Primary trio of Day’ah Dill, Honor White and Timirra Richardson will all hope to impress for the east. MSA forward Rhiannon Rushe will lead the east attack.

“The west will feature Port Royal’s Kimberly Outerbridge and Saltus’ Charlotte Murdoch Smith as goalkeepers. Warwick academy’s Ariya Samuels will marshall the defense with Zaya Can-Berkley from West End Primary and Jerzi Smith from Somerset Primary. The Energetic Dalton E Tucker forward Yara Muhammed with lead the forwards along with Jordyn Lewis from BHS and Lee Terceira from Warwick Academy

“The Primary Boys match will start at 12:30 with the east team hoping to defend their title. Goalkeeper Chaz Aguilar will play an important role in their title defense. Prospect Primary schoolmate Legend Frederick will lead the attack with Kimmij Butterfield from Northlands Primary. The defense will be led by Victor Scott’s O’Riahz Burgess-Clarke and East end Primary’s Zaedyn Furbert-Downes. Controlling the midefield for the east with be Somersfield Academy’s Sam Bernardino and Elliot Primary’s Gabriel Outerbridge

“The West will counter with an impressive lineup as well. Their attack will be led by the West Pembroke Primary duo of Judah Finnigan and Savio Easton Goater and Cove Bailey from West End Primary. The defense will be led by Warwick Academy’s Eoin Muirhead and Saltus’ Henry Brown. Midfield playmakers Sebastian Owen from Warwick and Dalton E. Tucker’s Shanzae Smith will be looking the supply the west attack. Gionni Araujo from Port Royal and Somerset Primary’s Gerard Burchall will share goalkeeping duties.

“The middle school girls match will also get underway at 11:00. Last year’s game was decided by a single goal and this year can be just as close. MSA’s Kyra Simmons will wear the gloves for the east this year. The defense will feature BHS trio Stella Simpson, Sophie Tindall and Marli Robinson. They will team up with Suri Ruddock from Chatmore Academy and The Whitney Institutes Melah Ruthersford. The midfield will be controlled by KO Cup MVP Avery Taylor from BHS and Mia Daponte from Somersfield Academy. MSA player Phoenix Williams will lead the attack.

“KO Cup winner and MVP Riley Khan will lead the west in their attempt to wrestle the trophy from the East. Sandys Secondary Middle School goalkeeper Sydney Denkins will be tasked with keep the east at bay. Saltus pair Shannon Fisher and Leydi Raynor will join Khan in the midfield. Warwick pair Nila Samuels and Anabelle Shah will team up with Priya Dill in the west front line.

“The middle School boys game will kick off at 2:00. Saltus has migrated to the east for the 2024 edition of the classic will have players to make an impact on the game. Adam Barritt will be key in defence while Xonti Burch will look to control the midfield and feed KO Cup hattrick hero and MVP Chaz Edmead. Goalkeeping duties will be shared by the Dunstan de Sa from MSA and Samuel Valles Ochoa from the Whitney Institute. Whitney’s Yasin Smith will join forces with Barritt in defense while classmate Maze Leverock will join Burch in the midfield. Somersfield Academy duo Cairo Burgess and Jack Bull will team up with Edmead and Remy Furbert in the attack.

“The west will feature Warwick Academy and CFU goalkeeper of the tournament Xavier Thomas-Bassett in goal. The defensive standouts for the west are De’ari Trott from Warwick Academy and Steven Astwood from the Bermuda Institute. Russon Bailey from Sandys will partner with Cillian McGlynn in the midfield while the attacking responsibilities will be left to Ja’Zhari Ingham from Warwick and Micha Lewis from Dellwood Middle School

“The senior girls match at 3:30 will feature the Red and Blue teams which were split to create a balanced and entertaining match. twelve Berkeley Institute players will be highlighted the match with six players featured in each team. Both teams are loaded with ladies currently preparing for the CONCACAF Under 17 world cup qualifiers. There will be many familiar faces on both squads. Semaj Basden from MSA will stand in goal for the blue team. Tasked with defender duites will be Berkeley’s Saony Trott, Ziae Castle, Christia Lugo-Elibox along with Saltus’ Natural Simmons and Warwick Academy’s Gianna Cedenio. The Blue team have an embarrassment of riches in the midfield led by Berkeley duo Janiya Sealey and Calae Young Gibbons, CedarBridge Academy’s Cayli Dowling, Warwick Academy Amiya James and Saltus Grammar Schools Abby Autmezguine. They Blue also boasts an explosive forward line of Milan Gibbons-Thomas from Saltus, Warwick’s Karis Brooks-Smith and Berkeley’s powerful Eva Tuzo. The match will also feature a set of BHS twins playing on opposite teams. Aunika Dzurus will play for the blue team while sister Freja will play on the red team.

“The lone Somersfield Academy player Aaliyah Haffar will suit up in goal for the red team. Their defense will be patrolled by recent KO Cup MVP Azae Burrows, Zelaye Showers, Daley Outerbridge from Berkeley and BHS student Khloe Curling along with CedarBridge Academy standout Dayasha Dill. Midfield duties will be tasked to Saltus player Sarai Hazelwood, Berkeley duo Keyandae Lightbourne and Ny’Asia White and CedarBridge player Ja’shay Trott. The attack will be spearheaded by Warwick Nila Samuels and Berkeley’s Sioma Rudo

“The senior school boys will take center stage at 5:00 pm with the East looking to avenge last year’s 3-0 loss. The East are boosted defensively by the Somersfield Academy duo of Matthew Troake from Vasco and Grant Reece from FC Bascome. The Saltus contingent features Wolves mid fielder Kydan Browne, St. George’s pair Isai Gibbons and Zachary McGuire and recent Under 16 knockout cup winners Curtis Jackson and Malik Paynter. CedarBridge Academy will be heavily featured with the Over 16 knockout cup champions showcasing nine players. PHC goalkeeper Jahneel Maria will be tasked with keeping the west attack at bay. Somerset Trojan Kameron McNeil, Robin Hood’s Jahzion Taylor and PHC forward Xave smith will lead the east attack with Dandy Town’s Dakayo Leverock and Naz Daley along with North Village’s Amir Brangman Johnson pulling the strings in the midfield. Trojan Dejon Bean and PHC zebra Dakari Smith-Davis will anchor the defense for the East squad.

“The Reigning champions from the west will have nine Berkeley Institute players in their squad. PHC goalkeeper Jayden Symons will face off against club teammate Maria in the west goal. Wolves midfielder Khari Sharrieff will also get to face club teammate Browne in the west midfield. Berkeley players will also be tasked with defensive duties led by current BFA under 18 league defender of the year Jayden Belboda-Raveneau from PHC, along with club teammate Jayce Fough and Somerset Trojan pair Patrick Dill and Michari Tear-Deleon. Robin Hood’s Zias Smith will spearhead the west attack. Olek Rymon Lipinski will also anchor the west defense. His MSA and Robin Hood teammate Sami Corolo will be a key piece in the west midfield. MSA’s Jordan Tavares will be one of four Vasco players in the west squad. He will be joined by Warwick Academy trio of Will Spriggs, Alexander Smith and Jayden Smith. Jai warner and Nate Snelling round out the Warwick Academy contingent. Devonshire colts player Ishmael Naylor will be the sole representative for the Bermuda Institute.
