Yushae DeSilva-Andrade says she is feeling confident as she prepares for her first competition of the year at the Poznan 2025 World Boccia Challenger in Poland, starting on June 23.

DeSilva Andrade returned to training at the start of the year after taking a break after finishing fourth in the BC1 women’s BC1 preliminary round at the Paralympic Games in Paris last summer.

“I’ve been figuring out what I need to do competition-wise and what I need to fix in my game,” DeSilva-Andrade told Bernews.

“My training is going well; I feel like I’m improving.”

DeSilva-Andrade will also compete in the Cali Americas Regional Championships in Colombia in September and the Coimbra World Boccia Challenger in Portugal November as she sets her sights on qualifying for the World Boccia Championships in Seoul, South Korea, next year.

“I’ll need a high ranking and enough points to make it through,” she added.
