Walking Football Team To Head To UK
A team of local walking footballers are to compete in a three-match tour of England, where they will face walking football teams representing Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City.
The team of 12 are John Miranda, Gordon Stewart, Elijah Lowe, George Butterfield, Chris Gibbons, Leroy “Curly Joe” Wilson, Michael Bean, Troy Lowe, David Chew, Andrew Griffith, Khomeni Talbot, and Johnny Robinson.
Walking football is small-sided game created by John Croot in 2011. It has rapidly grown worldwide, primarily attracting players over the age of 50.
No running is allowed, which significantly reduces the risk of injury and impact.
