Rugby Season Opens At National Sports Centre

The Bermuda Rugby Football Union league season opened at the National Sports Centre North Field with three matches totaling 156 points.

Police 25, Bermudianas 5

In the Ladies Division, Police defeated the Bermudianas 25-5. Akila Craig scored two tries for Police. Becky Garley, Amanda Swan, and Kaley Deluka each recorded one try. Zaria Codrington scored the lone try for the Bermudianas.

Teachers 37, Renegades 0

Teachers secured a 37-0 shutout victory against the Renegades in Ladies Division play. Lauren Rothwell and Heidi Groves each scored two tries. Lysmeire Santana, Christina Halliday, and Bella Greene contributed one try apiece. Santana also recorded one successful conversion.

Teachers 75, Renegades 14

In the Men’s Division, Teachers defeated the Renegades 75-14. Hadleigh Tucker, Jaden Hill, JaKee Simons, and JaNeko Francis each scored two tries for Teachers. Kelin Savanno Williams, Matthew Groves, and Gendy Moreno Iglesias each added one try. Tucker completed 10 conversions during the match. Jamie Baum scored two tries for the Renegades, and Calum Maule recorded two successful conversions.
