Bermudian Actor in Witherspoon Comedy
Coming fresh off a role in the summer comedy hit “Hot Tub Time Machine”, Bermudian actor Daren A. Herbert is now set to appear alongside Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon and TV comedienne Chelsea Handler in an upcoming romantic comedy.
Currently in production in Vancouver, British Columbia the film “This Means War” is about two lifelong friends (Tom Hardy and “Star Trek‘s” Chris Pine) who wage an epic battle against one another after they both fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon).
Mr. Herbert plays the character Agent Bothwick in the multi-million dollar film, expected to be a major release next summer. He has appeared in movies such as the Academy Award-winning “Dreamgirls” and TV shows like “Smallville” and “Sanctuary” and is due to appear in an upcoming episode of “SGU Stargate Universe”.
Based in Canada, 34-year-old Mr. Herbert most recently appeared on stage in a production of David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross” which ran in Vancouver in July and August.
A 1993 Warwick Academy graduate, Mr. Herbert was born and raised in Bermuda. He embarked on his performing career studying dance in Philadelphia. He soon switched to theatre/musical theatre and never looked back. Mr. Herbert has also worked as a nursing assistant, dietary technician, high school teacher at various times and served as a reservist in the Bermuda Regiment.
