Update On Reid Street Trenching Work

September 1, 2011

The City of Hamilton today provided an update on the trenching work that will take place on Reid Street starting on September 6, 2011.

The trenching will begin at the Queen and Reid Streets intersection and move east to Burnaby Street. In order to minimize the impact to motorists and pedestrians the work will be completed in 60 foot sections. This will ensure that traffic moves smoothly in the area while the work is being carried out.

Parking on the street will be temporarily affected while the trenching takes place.

According to the Chief Operating Officer and Secretary to the City of Hamilton, Mr. Edward Benevides, “We have looked carefully at the timing of this work. We consulted with the Chamber of Commerce and other stakeholders to apprise them of our plan. Our goal is to ensure there is as little disruption to the retailers and the general public as possible.”
