CADA Alcohol Awareness Video Contest

February 23, 2012

CADA, encouraging responsible alcohol behavior, announced their first Alcohol Awareness month video competition for children and teens.

CADA Chairman Anthony Santucci stated, “One of the objectives of this year’s alcohol awareness month is to increase public awareness of the importance of keeping alcohol out of the hands of children and teens. To this end, I am pleased to announce the first Alcohol Awareness Month video competition.”

Mr. Santucci continued, “While many of CADA’s messages are aimed at adults we want to ensure children have an understanding of why they shouldn’t drink alcohol. We feel children and teens creating messages for their peers will be a great way to continue to get the message out about the harmful effects alcohol has on growing bodies.

“We encourage any young person between 9 and 18 years, with access to video-making equipment, to create a 50 second video which provides suggestions on what children and teens can do to prevent alcohol use amongst their friends, and why this is important.

“The deadline to get the completed video in to CADA is 5:00pm on March 20. The winners of the competition will be announced at the CADA Alcohol Awareness Month proclamation ceremony on March 30 in Par-la-Ville Park.”

Mr. Santucci concluded, “Any child or teen interested in entering a video can find the full entry guidelines on CADA’s website, at www.cada.bm. We look forward to receiving entries.”
